What do you do when someone dies in a property you manage. This is our job, we clean the “worst of the worst” people can imagine. It is our job to make it all go away. We help the owner move forward and get the property back on the market.
- There is no family – we can help you.
- The family need to be liaised with and do not want to enter the property. We will enter, assess, report and help them through.
- If there are people living at the property still in distress who cannot handle the clean and clearout – we will work with them to get their home in order.
What Do I Need To Do?
When someone dies in your property, it is not just a case of go in, mop the floors and wipe the walls. Here are some of the many things you will need to consider.
- What will happen to the clients possessions?
- Who will pack it?
- Where is it going to?
- What if no one wants it?
- Did the client pass away unnoticed for many days or weeks?
- On what surface did the client pass away?
- How will this affect the clean?
- Where can you get rid of hazardous waste and body fluids?
- Are PPE and wrapping required to deal with this?
- Was the client unwell prior and it effected the way they cared for and cleaned their property?
- Were they on medication or having chemotherapy?
- Is there insect activity, seen or unseen?
- What can and cannot be remediated?
- Do you need anti microbials and sanitizers and which will work best on which surface?
- Furnishings need to be removed and replaced. Which ones and why?
- Body fluids travel under structures and furniture. How do I know where to look?
Who Do I Contact?
These may seem like simple questions but when there is a lot of emotion involved, looking at and assessing such things is “triggering”, then we are here to help you through.
